Session 1: Japanese Jiujitsu. What to Expect.

This first workshop session offers a unique opportunity to explore the subtle yet powerful techniques of empty-hand self-defense, rooted in the ancient samurai traditions of Aiki-Jujutsu—the foundation of modern Jiu-Jitsu and Aikido—directly inspired by Japanese sword (kenjutsu) and knife (tantojutsu).

  • Tactical movement and awareness skills applicable to real-world scenarios

  • The historical and technical connections between Nami Ryu, Aikido, and Jiu-Jitsu

From tactical footwork to seamless joint locks and throws, you’ll gain insights into techniques that are both martially effective and deeply rooted in tradition.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned martial artist, you’ll get a glimpse of effective, real-world self-defense skills and heightened situational awareness that can be applied in everyday life.
