What is Nia Dance Fitness?

Created in the early 1980s by fitness instructors Debbie Rosas and Carlos Aya Rosas, Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) aims to integrate the body, mind, and spirit to promote overall well-being. Meet Lisa Baba & K.O.
Boulder Nia Dance Fitness Instructors
About Lisa Baba
Lisa Baba started dancing Nia as a student twenty years ago. She fell in love with the practice during her first class when she started moving her body in ways she never knew her body could move. The effect of her Nia practice not only enlivened her body, it helped her integrate her mind, emotions, and spirit as well.

In 2014, Lisa started teaching Nia and has reached the level of Black Belt Nia Instructor. She seeks to deepen her learning of the Nia principles on the dance floor and in life, inviting her students to do the same.

In addition to her Nia experience, Lisa has martial arts experience as a third-degree black belt in tae kwon do.

About K.O.
Nia with Karen Olsen (K.O.) is energetic, relaxing, sweet, fun, surprising, and ever changing. K.O. is a First Degree Nia Black Belt instructor in Boulder, Colorado, teaching Nia since 2001. She's also a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBHWC) specializing in Functional Medicine, and a licensed massage therapist. In addition, she loves to run, hike, grow plants, create art, and provide paths to wellness and health for all.
