Come experience Lua, the Way of the Hawaiian Warrior with Kumu Lua Ramsay Taum

Once thought lost to antiquity, the secretive Hawaiian martial system involves much more than just combative skills. LUA is a combat art and practice that creates new ways of thinking, new ways of being, and new ways of “being present” in times of uncertainty.


Come and learn from Kumu Lua Ramsay as he shares and demonstrates basic principles, concepts and application of this unique cultural battle system.


Kumu Ramsay is the Po'o, head instructor of the Kaihewalu Lua Family System in Hawaii. Trained by numerous kupuna, Hawaiian elders, Kumu Ramsay has nearly 50 years of martial arts experience and served as the Lua technical advisor and stunt performer for the hit series Hawaii Five-0.


All martial arts styles and systems are welcome!

Background on Ramsay RM Taum


Ramsay RM Taum graduated from the Kamehameha Schools, attended the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. His eclectic background and experience in business, government and community service makes him an asset in both public and private sectors and has been instrumental in for-profit and non-profit business.


Ramsay Remigius Mahealani Taum is the founder and president of the Hawai’i based Life Enhancement Institute (LEI) of the Pacific LLC, Director of the Pacific Islands Leadership Institute (PILI)at Hawaii Pacific University, and Cultural Sustainability Planner at PBR HAWAII & Associates.


Mentored and trained by respected kupuna (elders), Ramsay is a practitioner and instructor of several Native Hawaiian practices including ho‘oponopono (stress release and mediation), lomi haha (body alignment) and Kaihewalu Lua (Hawaiian combat/battle art).
