2024 Spring Aikido Weekend Weapons Workshop

Join us for a special afternoon of immersive Aikido weapons training. Open to all Aikido affiliations and skill levels.


Saturday, April 13, 2023 9:00–4:30 pm Four Great Sensei. One Exciting Day of Aikido Weapons.



Attend one, two or all three sessions. A casual social outing is planned after the event.

This exciting friendship seminar, brings several styles of Aikido from Colorado and New Mexico to train together, find commonalities, and experience flow with the various weapons forms developed by several leaders of Aikido over the last 50 years.


Joel Nakamura Sensei, 4th dan, is Founder & Chief Instructor at Kaiju Aikido Club in Santa Fe, New Mexico (currently celebrating its 10-year anniversary). Nakamura Sensei is also a professional artist, and teaches Aikido as an art with infinite possibilities and discoveries.

   

Evolene Premillieu Sensei, 4th dan, started Aikido in 2000 in France and moved to Boulder in 2012 to continue her training under Ikeda Sensei and Tres Hofmeister Sensei for the following decade. She is the instructor of Aikikai ASU at One Dojo.


David Ruttinger Sensei, 4th dan, Head Instructor of the Colorado School of Mines Aikido Club, started aikido in Washington DC in 2004. He also teaches traditional jujutsu and kenjutsu and is the weapons instructor for Denver Aikikai.


Randy Thompson Sensei, 3rd dan, focuses on passing on the mind-body coordination from Ki Aikido Founder, Soshu Koichi Tohei Sensei, through teaching effective martial technique. He teaches Intermediate Ki Aikido at One Dojo.



Workshop Schedule

Doors open 8:30 am at One Dojo Boulder


1 Session $35, 2 Sessions $60, Full Workshop $75


9:00 am – 11:00 am Joel Nakamura Sensei

11:15 am – 1:15 pm Randy Thompson Sensei

1:15 – 2:30 pm LUNCH

2:30 – 4:30 pm Evolene Premillieu- & David Ruttinger-Sensei


Social gathering at Rayback Collective directly following the seminar. Everyone is welcome to attend!
